I taught myself to write calligraphy twenty years ago. Since then my dining room has evolved into a busy creative space with adjustable tilting desks, paper stores and hundreds of nibs, inks and paints! I’ve written in calligraphy all over the walls and yes, it really does spark joy!

I write poems and song lyrics, family trees and wedding stationery and calligraphy quotes. My tools are a proper old school dip pen and metal nib, with dippy ink pots and specialist art papers. Every new calligraphy project is exciting, and I love working with people to create those really special unique gifts, which become family heirlooms over time.

I came home to Cumbria and live by the beach, on a part of the coastline which has incredible views of the Lake District mountains. I’m a wildlife campaigner, deeply involved in protesting against a controversial holiday resort which would destroy our local wild spaces. I believe in speaking out and standing up for nature!
