Safe Travels Japanese Proverb Enamel Bag Charm

This enamel bag charm says itterashai in Japanese which translates as 'go and come back' in English. Which we take to mean 'safe travels'.

Featuring a beautiful crysanthemum that symbolises (in this instance) love, joy and longevity. It's quite a masculine flower so I designed it to be unisex - a charm with a clip to attach to a rucksack (or hide in the luggage) when they're off adventuring without you... a much used expression in Japan - it's their version of 'see ya later' which I like to take as a promise... I can be quite intense!

Designed for my fluent Japanese speaking child on their journeying to live in Japan for a year. Could just as easily be a travel totem for a teen on their DofE or residential week... a non-religious version of a St. Christopher in essence!
