The wild cherry is among the first trees to bloom in spring, and seen as as important marker for the turning of the seasons. The small delicate white blossoms are great pollinaters which are follwed by deep red-purple berries in summer.
The tree is a real show piece, maturing to 30m in height its shiny bark is a deep red-brown colour with oval leave that are grossy green.
