Lepidoptera (n) - an order of insects that comprises the butterflies and moths.
This print takes inspiration from antiquarian butterfly collections, now on display in museums, that included everything from giant Amazonian blue morpho butterflies to the humble cabbage white. Each butterfly has been hand painted in watercolour by London-based designer Maddie Chambers before being digitally printed in the UK onto 150gsm recycled paper using eco-friendly inks.
For a vintage book plate feel, the approximate species of each mythical butterfly has been noted underneath in calligraphy. The perfect addition to an art collection or gallery wall, or great for adding a pop of colour to a room on its own.
This art print is packaged with a thick cardboard backing board hand-stamped with the Also the Bison logo and comes gift wrapped in recycled tissue paper.
