Ailurus fulgens (n) - the red panda is a small mammal native to the eastern Himalayas and southwestern China. Ailurus comes from the Greek for cat and Fulgens from the Latin for shining.

The Specimen range of Greetings Cards has been inspired by carefully labelled specimens collected and stored in Natural History Museums, each with a careful note of their species in latin written in calligraphy underneath. They're a great way to buy one of my original watercolour paintings, and look spectacular framed. This red panda has been hand painted in watercolour before being digitally printed in the UK.
