'Gone With The Wind' Butterfly Artwork

This stunning handmade artwork is a collection of single cut paper butterflies created from a literary classic

A beautiful gift for all literary lovers or those that love text and fonts. Each handcut butterfly is subtly edged with gold and styled into a selected pattern. The butterflies are then set on a background of the manipulated text of the book which then flows up the sides of the box frame. Two of the butterflies are faced in gold leaf

This work is part of a series of works based on literature, inspired by my fascination with museum collections. The book has been chosen for its meaning, the visual quality of the paper and the print style. I use second-hand, damaged and unloved books for these artworks.
