A copy of my FIFTH book, Messages to My Younger Self.
This book has felt like therapy to make. It is in many ways a lot more open and vulnerable than my previous four books, and has taken a lot of work and long nights to put together.
A bit about the theme:
Often I wish I could go back and speak to my younger self. Tell her - this might hurt right now, but it’s not forever (not that she’d have believed me anyway, the stubborn girl). Too many young people make permanent decisions before they even get the chance to see how good life could get if they just hang on in there. I’d love to tell little me - your time will come.. you’re going to eat the most delicious food, meet the most extraordinary people, travel around the world, dance until your feet hurt and laugh so hard you pee yourself. You’re going to feel more loved than you ever thought possible, and you’re going to be proud but amazed of what you’re capable of, how much you’ll achieve. But until that moment, be patient. Your time will come, but in the meantime, keep working hard, keep being kind, always speak your mind, and keep clapping for others.
When I told a friend my idea for the theme of my next book, she replied with ‘I agree completely. I would have loved when I was younger but still feel like we’re pretty young and could do with a lot of those reminders still now’. That was when I decided to go for it and create Messages to my Younger Self.
So proud to make Messages to my Younger Self my fifth book. I hope some of you find it healing <3
