Corten is known as”Weathering steel,” which refers to the chemical composition of the steel, allowing the signs to exhibit increased resistance to atmospheric corrosion compared to other steels. This is because the steel forms a protective layer on its surface under the influence of the weather allowing the steel to rust in order to form the ‘protective’ coating.
Stainless steel is 1.5mm thickness 304 grade stainless steel.
Fixings - a choice of screws, screw caps or stand off fixings are offered (either antique bronze fixings or stainless steel fixings).
Due to the natural finish of the Corten steel, the colour and patina will vary on each sign. Each sign is supplied with the rusting process already underway & the rust patina and colour will intensify over time.
Sign edges may be slighly uneven, so take care unwrapping and fixing.
