The unique band on this stunning ring was created from a single twig, selected for its detailed texture and knots. A wax mold of the twig was made and then cast in pure 9ct yellow gold. From this gold casting, Caroline Brook forms and creates the Woodland Twig Ring which has become a firm favourite for engagement rings.
The ring features a beautiful brilliant cut 0.25ct Moissanite centre stone and another small Moissanite set into the knot of the ring.
Moissanite is a lab created stone, developed and painstakingly reproduced. It replicates the chemical formation of a very rare mineral originally found by Henri Moissan while examining rock samples from a meteor crater located in Canyon Diablo, Arizona, in 1893. Because they are not mined stones they are an appealing option for those seeking an eco-conscious gemstone.
Moissantie is often compared to diamonds for their brilliance and their fiery, rainbow flashes are much admired. They also rate highly on the Mohs scale at 9.25 which makes it a very hard stone and ideal for everyday wear.
