Variations
We have adapted an original knitting pattern from the 1930s to create this authentic vintage elephant knitting kit. The kit contains wool from a flock of Portland sheep. The soft grey colour is achieved by mixing the cream Portland wool with a small amount of Black Welsh Mountain wool. The kit also contains everything else you need to knit the elephant and sew it together, including stuffing, a sewing needle and helpful instructions. The teddy bears in our range wear a 'Handmade with love' ribbon so we gave one to Cecily too.
We match our vintage toys with names from the period. We did a little research and came up with the name Cecily which felt just right. Each toy we knit has its own personality and right from the moment she was put together Cecily was our shy little elephant. So cute and adorable - hope you agree.
