In 1973, the Royal Mint introduced the first commemorative 50p coin in the UK when Britain finally joined the European Economic Community. The EEC 'clasped hands' 50p coin is a symbol of unity between the members of the EEC, and was meant to represent the cooperation between the countries.
It's also a lovely symbol of the hands of friendship.
Please note this coin is an old-style 50p which has a larger diameter (30mm) compared to the smaller versions that are in circulation now (27.3mm)
The coin is in fantastic condition and has been polished to a brilliant shine.
We also offer an engraving service so you can add a message to the back of your keyring, perfect for that personalised finish.
Please refer to the photos for engraving style/font and alignment. If engraving has not been chosen, the product will be blank on the reverse side.
The keyring will arrive to you in a gift box, all ready to pass on as a gift.
