Stargazing in Wales with your very own astronomer for the evening in one some of the darkest areas in the UK!
Ideal for an intimate evening with a loved one or even for that special occassion! Great for Christmas, Birthdays or Anniversary!
Take a tour of the night sky, viewing familiar and unfamiliar constellations of the northern hemisphere, find various deep sky objects such as the Orion Nebula and learn the correct use of binoculars and navigation via star maps. You will also be shown how to set up a telescope correctly before viewing and then photographing some of the magnificent sights in the night sky.
No prior knowledge or equipment needed, but feel free to bring both!
LOCATION: Brecon Beacons, Elan Valley - Cambrian Mountains or Broad Haven South Beach, Pembrokeshire in Wales.
DURATION: 2 hours.
WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW
The start time varies according to the time of year to ensure darkness. There are provisions to ensure that even if the weather is a little unaccommodating there will still be opportunities to use the equipment and learn about the skies, but there is a risk of the activity being cancelled in the event of forecast gales or predicted cloud cover. In this instance we will contact you in advance, but please retain your voucher/s as arrangements can be made for you to rearrange for a future date.
