The signs are made using the best British monumental quality slate and is unaffected by extreme weather or frost.. The letters are deeply cut into the slate, which is essential for the signs to have a long outdoor life.
Before the letters are cut each sign is drawn up by our experienced craftsmen who ensure the correct size lettering and layout is used to suit each individual sign.
With all plaques we will send a layout drawing showing the suggested layout for your approval before cutting the letters.
The plaques are available in two sizes with letters infilled white or cream and a choice of times roman bold or sabon letter styles.
A large proportion of the plaques we make are supplied without holes where the plaque is cemented to a stone or wall. They can be therefore be supplied with or without holes or alternatively mounted on a metal backing and steel leg painted black.
Metal plaques are often stolen for their scrap value whereas slate has no recyclable value and is very unlikely to be stolen for its scrap value which makes it the perfect choice for plaques of this nature.
