Narrative based illustration

I am an illustrator/printmaker working in Cornwall. I graduated from Falmouth University's Masters degree in Authorial Illustration in 2009. Since then I have set up the 'Old School Press' where I design and illustrate limited edition self publications.

I have always had a passion for storytelling and this is at the heart of all of my work. Themes are grown from small observations from my surroundings but then take you far from the familiar on an unexpected journey.

Observation has been key in breathing life into my work. Enriching drawings with little details, facial expressions, posture and pattern has been essential in giving strength and emotion to my characters.

From my books I have created a range of open edition prints that each tell a story of their own.
