An art print of brutalist architecture in St. Petersburg Russia, reimagined as a retro postage stamp.
A striking print of Soviet Brutalistm in an Illustrated Art Print featuring the once Central Research Institute of Robotics and Technical Cybernetics.
It was an exhibition of Soviet Brutalism in MOMA New York, back in 2018, that got me so curious about this style of architecture that prevailed in the USSR, before it's dissolution in 1991.
This particular building stood out amongst the many harsh and totalitarian looking ones, as one that represented the spirit of the Russian space race. In the shape of a tulip, or slim rockets looking upwards, the retro futurism of this is so striking.
Combining my love for architecture, and design aesthetic of old Soviet propaganda posters, I have reimagined the iconic structures as postage stamps.
This print will make a perfect gift for architects, birthday or housewarming gifts as well.
This poster is available in 4 different sizes A5, A4, A3, A2 (Giclee) and A1 (Giclee)
Please note: The posters are not framed.
