An illustrated artwork of the Ritzy Brixton on a reflection of it's past - the Electric Pavilion. An upside down poster.
The Ritzy cinema has stood on the corner of Coldharbour Lane in Brixton for nearly 100 years now. It has outlived competition, survived bombing, and prevailed through the increasing popularity of television.
Opening in 1911 as the Electric Pavilion, it was designed by architects E.C Homer & Lucas. Like many cinemas of the period, it was fitted with an organ. In1954 it was renovated by George Coles who installed cinemascope, and renamed "the Pullman"
I wanted to illustrate the present day Ritzy, but also not forgetting the past, the glorious facade of the Electric Pavilion.
This poster is available in 2 different sizes A4 or A3 and A2 (Giclee)
Please note: The posters are not framed.
