A plant-based alternative to Lanolin and Beeswax balms, Nurture Nursing Balm is a blend of edible, nourishing butters and oils along with botanical extracts.Capuacu Butter increases skin hydration and reduces trans-epidermal water loss making it a vegan alternative to Lanolin. Murumuru Butter is known for its anti- inflammatory properties. Rich in oleic and linoleic oils, it provides nutrition and moisture to the skin. It helps restore elasticity and serves as a powerful skin barrier repair agent.Passion Fruit Oil is rich in essential fatty acids, antioxidants and helps to restore and hydrate the skin.Chickweed is commonly used to treat itches but is also good for inflamed skin.Chamomile is healing and calming while Plantain induces wound healing and reduces the chance of scarring. It is a skin soothing agent with antibacterial properties.
Note: This product is heat sensitive and not suitable for warm climates. Best stored below 25°C.
TO USE:
Apply a small amount of balm to nourish and protect after each feed or as needed. There is no need to remove the balm before breastfeeding. Can also be applied to other dry, chapped areas.
THE CHEMISTRY
Capuacu Butter has excellent moisturising properties. We use it as a plant based lanolin substitute as it also reduces trans-epidermal water loss. It belongs to the same family as Cacao and is one of the Amazonian super fruits. The pulp is used in juices, ice creams and sweets while the fermented seeds are roasted which is used in a drink called Cupulate. The butter is obtained by cold pressing the seeds.
Kokum Butter is one of the hardest and most stable butters. This incredibly smooth butter has high compositions of beneficial materials to help regenerate tired and worn skin cells and further supports elasticity and general flexibility of the skin wall. Kokum Butter contains antioxidants and possesses natural skin healing and regeneration properties.
Aroma: The combination of the natural butters impart a slightly nutty fragrance
Container: Reusable and recyclable aluminium container with easy slide-lid for convenient opening. We know that mothers quite often only have one hand available.
