Suitable for knitters with just a little experience, our elephant is knitted flat on 4mm chunky knitting needles and uses increasing and decreasing stitches to shape. A fun autumn knitting project for adults or children.
To make your elephant you will need: A pair of long 4mm straight knitting needles, chunky yarn in the colours of your choice: we use Paintbox Simply Chunky in Bubblegum Pink (as an alternative, StyleCraft Special Chunky in Fondant is a nearly identical pink) and a contrasting chunky yarn for the stripe- we use half a ball of StyleCraft Special Chunky in Camel, a darning needle, toy stuffing and a pair of 9mm black toy safety eyes with click-on plastic backs.
