A pinch of salt is traditionally defined as "the amount that you can hold between the forefinger and thumb".
There are differing opinions as to the actual quantity of a pinch of salt, and either 1/16 or 1/8 teaspoon (0.3 or 0.6 ml) are the most commonplace.
If it helps, here’s a general rule, there are two dashes in a tad, two pinches in a dash and two smidgens in a pinch. If that doesn’t help, our little acorn spoon will hold 1.2 g (0.04 oz) of heaped, 0.6 g (0.02 oz) rounded and 0.4 g (0.01 oz) levelled salt.

The acorn spice spoon is 9.3 cm (3.7”) long and comes in an organza bag with care and usage instructions.
However, if you select gift wrapping, the spoon will come in a gift wrapped black presentation box.

Each Glover and Smith design is handmade from solid polished lead-free pewter which is non-tarnishing (that was the lead in old pewter) and completely food safe. Using solid metal means the surface of your acorn salt spoon will never flake like a silver plated salt spoon,To clean just wash with warm soapy water. All our designs are made exclusively by us in Salisbury Wiltshire.
