The genuine sixpence is steam cleaned and is half encased in a handmade hallmarked solid silver sleeve to protect it and also so that a message can be engraved on the back of the sixpence necklace as shown in the photograph.
Please note that the more words you choose the smaller the writing will be so the plainer the font should be, as script fonts can be hard to read when small.
Pre 1947 sixpences are a little more expensive due to the silver content. All sixpences are used coinage and the older ones will show signs of wear, we think this adds to their beauty and we make sure the date and pattern is always legible.
