High Fibre Design

Established in 2008 High Fibre Design started with my desire to create a unique collection of knitted yarns.

For the best results I choose to use 100% lambswool spun in Scotland, selected for its quality and the fabulous colour range available. The fine yarn is first knitted on a vintage industrial machine at my Norfolk-based studio to produce metres of a tubular yarn which is then washed and lightly felted ready to be designed into individual handmade pieces. The yarn is wonderfully soft and tactile. Worked on large needles it creates lovely dense rounded stitches with a 3-dimensional quality.

Inspiration comes from many sources, my love of collecting and making things, handling materials, playing with colour. I also enjoy mixing techniques using both hand and machine processes to create traditional textiles with a contemporary twist. The range includes distinctive hand knitted and crocheted accessories to wear and for the home.
