I hand make all items from my workshop in Sheffield, no need for machines. For stitching I use strong polyester thread, coated in beeswax for a tougher finish. The method used is saddle stitching ( using dual needles/thread simultaneously) which creates the strongest bond, reducing the chance of any thread from breaking and unravelling. After stitching, the edges are hand burnished and a final layer of beeswax is added to complete.
