Tablet is a medium to hard sugary treat, traditionally produced in Scotland. It was first made back in the 18th Century, where it was originally made using just sugar and cream. Over the years, the recipe has been modified and the cream has been replaced with butter and condensed milk, due to cream having a tendency to burn when boiled.
Tablet is different from fudge, in that it has a brittle, more grainy texture to it, while fudge tends to be softer and smoother in consistency. Tablet is usually harder than fudge but softer than hard candy.
We've been producing tablet at home to an old family recipe since March 2015 and have since developed a range of exciting and delicious flavours.
