Dating back to Tudor times, the Jester was an important historical character who entertained the royal court with music, storytelling and magic. According to Shakespeare’s Twelfth Night , Feste the jester was “wise enough to play the fool”. Our glittering Christmas stocking is inspired by this fabulous character, set centre stage, surrounded by gold sequin stars. Made from black luxurious velvet, appliquéd in cream wool with hand embroidered detail, his headdress is embellished with black or pearly cream sequins.
