Small Union Jack 'Crunch' Cushion in Hand Embroidered Wool
This little gem is a take on Jan's original, larger version Union Jack cushion. It retains all the luxury and feel of 'the original’ Union Jack cushion, created and hand-embroidered by Jan in 2006, and has now become an iconic British classic. This small Union Jack cushion is sometimes called the Crunch Cushion because it was initially made in 2008 in response to the Credit Crunch as a more affordable version of its larger relative!
Variations
The cushion is handmade in the old-fashioned way, using traditional embroidery skills to create a stunning and modern patriotic pillow. Red and cream wool stripes are appliquéd onto a grey or classic navy wool base to form the Union Jack design, and hand-embroidered cross-stitching and an appliqué heart in the centre complete the iconic design. The cushion edge is also hand-embroidered with cream blanket stitch, and it is fastened on the back with two mother of pearl buttons.
