Hand Thrown Plate

A beautiful example of her 'Red Flash' range from Tythegston Pottery. Hand thrown from high-fired stoneware, with rich stoneware 'chun' blue and red glaze.

These plates are robust and rugged. Can be used everyday and go in and out of the dishwasher and perfectly happily. Hand thrown at her South Wales studio, in rich stoneware with stunning sky-blue 'Chun' glaze. I develop all my own glazes and this glaze type has a history of over 1400 years. The 'Chun' blue colour develops because the glaze reflects blue light out of the glaze to the eye giving the glaze a depth and richness that a pigment cannot supply. Part of my 'Red Flash' range.
