Create Your Own Leather Book Cover: Join Johny Todd's Hands-On Experience to Craft Unique, Personalized Covers for Your Favorite Books!
Ideal for someone looking for something different, you'll spend the day at the authentic workshop of master craftsman Johny Todd in Stafford, UK, making a leather book cover/slip using leather working tools and techniques. Beginners are very welcome and excellent tuition in an inspiring and imersive environment will provide a fun and productive course.
The workshop is to make a re-usable leather book cover/slip to contain an hardback notebook, e.g. a sketchbook or diary. This session is not a bookbinding workshop and loose sheets of paper will not be able to used unless by specific prior arrangement.
The price(s) includes tuition and materials. During the session you will choose your leather from a range of colours, then design, decorate, measure, cut, stitch and make a book cover.
A basic hardback book insert with plain paper, vof the size selected with the order, is provided, but participants will have an opportunity to upgrade/purchase a different book insert size on the day. Alternatively, they can bring their own(size must match the workshop option selected).
Booking options are provided to make either an A6, an A5 or an A4 sized book cover.
At the end of the course participants will have a re-usable book cover (depends on option selected), but please be aware that competent leather working of this sort requires a level of skill only achieved through many hours of practice, so it may help to see the activity as a 'leather experience day', where in the short, intense amount of time allocated, we'll do our best to assist you in realising your book cover design.
VALIDITY PERIOD: Voucher holders must book and redeem their place on the experience within 12 months of the order date.
