Our Story

Elegant handmade chocolates, inspired by the world of Jane Austen.

It is a truth universally acknowledged that we love chocolate!

We love working with it, playing with it, designing and sculpting it. And, of course, eating it (definitely the best part). A large bar of chocolate is the best recipe for happiness we have ever heard of.

Josephine's Chocolate was set up by Jo in 2017 after designing a chocolate cameo for a university project. She decided to put her love of chocolate and Jane Austen together along with her business degree to create a unique company making truly elegant handmade chocolates.

All of our chocolates are made by hand in our Edinburgh kitchen.

We love what we do and hope you can taste that love with every bite.

Chocolate Jane Austen inspired Cameo Brooches, Gift Box

Our signature product is our Chocolate Cameo Brooch. Jo came up with the idea while studying Baking Technology Management, and fell in love with the beautifully intricate design. Moulds were sourced and made, to offer each of Jane Austen's Heroines her own face.

Each cameo is individually handmade from layers of luxuriously smooth Belgian chocolate and dusted in edible gold shimmer. We colour the background with our signature Josephine's Blue to emulate the look of a beautiful antique cameo brooch.

Our Products

Delivery

We hand make everything at Josephine’s Chocolate, so orders can take up to 3-6 days to dispatch, but we always aim to send it sooner when possible.

For wedding favours (especially large orders) we aim to dispatch within two weeks from ordering.
