Kingsbarns and Darnley's Gin Distillery

The latest Single Malt Scotch Distillery set in the land once prized by kings of Scotland for its barley, Kingsbarns, Fife.

At Kingsbarns Distillery, we take Fife grown barley and water from an aquifer 100m below the distillery and through our process of milling, mashing, fermentation and distilling fill just 33 casks a week of our fruity and floral spirit. The spirit must mature in oak casks for at least 3 years and a day before we can call it Single Malt Whisky, so we are looking forward to early 2018 to have our first dram!

Our new Lowland single malt whisky will be maturing in oak casks for at least three years before we decide to bottle our first release. Our main choice of casks is first fill ex Bourbon barrels and we will be judiciously tasting our maturing spirit to determine when it is ready to be bottled.

Our vision is to release a number of different expressions of our whisky to reflect the versatility of our light and fruity style. We don't want to give too much away at this early stage, but we're looking forward to sharing our journey over the next few years.
