Product description
A beautiful handmade globe, using fascimile map artwork originally published by Parisian globemaker Dien in 1858. Devoid of colour for a strikingly spare, elegant presentation.
An unusual gift for yourself or someone else, and a stunning addition to living room, study, hallway or bedroom. All our globes are made by hand, in the traditional way they have been made for centuries, starting with a plaster ball, printed paper map artwork is then applied by hand, sealed then varnished.
The globe is presented on a turned wooden stand painted in Farrow & Ball's 'White Tie'. The bespoke metalwork is British stainless steel. We only use British parts for all our globes.
Made from
Plaster ball, printed paper map artwork, stainless steel metalwork, wooden stand. Globe itself may be dusted but not made wet, metalwork may be polished.
Our globes are not toys, and should be treated with respect. Handled with care they will last for generations and become family heirlooms of the future.
Dimensions
Globe diameter 30.5cm, height 57cm.
