All the leather is sourced from Italian tanneries who tan cow hides as a by product of the European meat industry. There is a choice of gorgeous muted grainy vegetable tanned leather. Vegetable tanned leather is tanned without the use of metals and is a traditional, slow and gentle process where plant matter such as oak bark, mimosa and quebrancho is used to gently preserve the fibres in the leather. All the metal hardware is made from solid brass. The thread is a high quality Italian leatherworkers thread made from recycled nylon. Beautiful plastic free packaging.
