A delicate handmade glass stem of chicory with its pretty powder blue flower, originally found wild amongst long grass, it's leaves are edible.

Chicory was believed to give the bearer the power of invisability.

It always reminds me of Camp Coffee, which my mother used to drink, it was a coffee flavoured syrup made from chicory and dried coffee extract to which you added to warm milk or hot water or in the summer cold milk and ice.
