Decorate your Christmas trees with these beautiful ceramic Dala horses handmade from white stoneware clay, inspired by the popular Scandinavian design.
"THE DALA HORSE" originates from Scandinavia where they were traditionally made as toys for the children. The Dala Horse has now become the unofficial symbol of Sweden and Scandinavian frugality.
I have taken the Dala horse shape and cut it from white clay and lightly patterned the back of the horses with a beautiful snowflake pattern and fired them in my kiln. The only glaze I have used is the blue detailing on the horses threaded with white ribbons.
These Dala horses have a lovely contemporary feel and look great hung on the Christmas tree. They have been threaded with two different colour satin ribbons.
(White horses with red ribbon now out of stock,) a few sets of the white horses with blue detail remaining.
Currently being sold as a pair, (one large and one small size, there are two designs to choose from.)
Attached to each pair of horses I have added a little tag with a description of the Dala horse and its origins. This may be removed easily by the recipient.
