Our signs are individually crafted in our workshop from Cumbrian slate. They are engraved using a traditional V Cut engraving then painted with enamel.
Our slate is Burlington slate, quarried just down the road. We have picked it for its fabulous quality. It is a rich dark slate, that is frost proof and will not fade. We engrave the slate in our workshop, using a traditional V Cut method so that it looks clean and crisp (it is not etched on the slate). All our slate signs are polished on the edge to give them a beautiful finish. Finally, we paint the letters in an enamel white, gold or silver finish. The enamel paint will not weather and will last for years to come. All of our signs come with two drilled holes at the side to make fixing them to a wall easy and we provide the screws, caps and wall plugs.
Our sign is available in 2 sizes, large (2 lines of text) and extra large (3 lines of text).
You can choose to have mixed case letters or all capitals. If you choose mixed case letters, then you can have a maximum number of 12 characters on the sign on each line. If you choose all capitals, then you can have a maximum number of 9 characters on each line.

If your sign is a gift and you select to add a gift box your gift will come in a beautiful black box with a hand tied ribbon and we can add a gift message for you.
