Own a real piece of history with our Genuine Spitfire Metal Cufflinks.
These fantastic cufflinks combine sterling silver fittings with a spitfire made from a piece of inlet manifold from K9807 Hornchurch. K9807 was a mark one spitfire, the 12th plane to roll off the production line.
K9807 was in active service until the 5th of October 1940 when it was shot down over Dover by a German Bf109. The pilot, James Storrs Morton managed to bail out despite being burned and after recovering from his injuries returned to active duty in February 1941.
In 2013, an M.O.D sanctioned excavation, enabled us to gain a section of the inlet manifold from this aircraft. Using CAD and 3D printing we were able to design the spitfire detail for these cufflinks. Using a double casting method and without using any refining processes on the aluminium, thus staying as true as possible to the original material, we were able to create these cufflinks.
These wonderful cufflinks come complete with a luxury gift box, information booklet and certificate of authenticity.
