Sides constructed from 9mm Scandinavian birch faced ply
The base and hinged lid is 4mm birch ply
Two brass hinges and metal clasp on each box
Each box is skilfully aged and finished by hand and personalised in our workshops in Hertfordshire, England
The box is purposefully aged and antiqued so is designed to have imperfections in the wood and look old and worn so may have, splits, holes, scratches, patches (keys) and marks to give it that vintage appearance, each box will be unique!
Colour of box may vary depending on the batch of wood
The inside of the box is stained as shown but is not sanded as the outside so may have rough patches and darker patches where it absorbs the colour.
The outside and inside is finished with a natural wood wax colour.
Your choice of personalisation will be carved into the lid as shown in the photography and then hand painted in white to highlight the design.
Each order will be designed based on your chosen text and the font so will be individually designed and may differ slightly to the image shown. If you would like to see a draft do let us know.
Exact colour and patina/ grain on your box will vary depending on the batch of wood and differences in the hand finishing.
