An organically grown, warming black tea grown with care near Yuchi, central Taiwan, not far from Sun Moon Lake.
This tea is bursting with bold, comforting flavour with notes of cooling mint and sweet cinnamon. Hand-picked to ensure the highest quality, every leaf reflects the love and intention behind its making.
This tea is made from the beloved Ruby 18 cultivar, a distinctive hybrid of Taiwan’s indigenous wild tea trees and the large-leaf assamica, commonly found in southwestern China, Myanmar, and northeastern India. The result is a cultivar celebrated for its full-bodied character, lively aroma, and subtle, spicy complexity.

About the teamaker
The Sun Moon Lake area is renowned for its rich biodiversity and fertile, mineral-rich soil. Here, the Chen family lovingly tend their tea plants with a deep sense of stewardship and devotion. For them, tea is a way for people to connect with the land, each other, and the feeling of home.
They use entirely natural farming methods, forgoing herbicides, pesticides, and chemical fertilisers. Instead, they rely on nature’s remedies. When pests appear, the family makes their own protective sprays from fermented fruit peels, used tea leaves, kitchen scraps, water, and sugar. These homemade solutions nourish and protect the plants without adding anything artificial or harmful.
Their goal is simple: to grow clean, healthy tea that’s good for both people and the planet.
