Product description

Our Fair Trade elephant dung note holders make a quirky but practical gift and are a handy edition to any desk or phone table.

The elephant dung box is made from 75% elephant dung and 25% recycled paper – yes really! Each note holder comes with approx 50 individual sheets of handmade paddy husk paper inside. It’s a beautifully smooth, acid-free paper that is easy to write on with any pen of your choice.

The note holders are handmade by skilled local artisans and each one is finished with a brass elephant motif on the top. The brass elephant motifs are all hand finished and maybe a slightly different design to the image shown.

Our handmade notecubes are very versatile and are ideal for an range of needs, perfect for jotting down a shopping list, leaving sentimental messages or as a great desk addition.

Variations

As the paper is handmade from elephant dung there may be some variation in the texture and shade of the colours depending on the diet of the elephant who produced it.

Due to its handmade nature each one is unique but loveliness comes as standard making it an ideal birthday, Mother's & Father's Day, new job, home, baby, graduation and teacher, thank you, just because, engagement, wedding, anniversary or Christmas gift!

Made from

The elephant dung box is made from 75% elephant dung and 25% recycled paper – yes really!

This product has been handmade by Trickledown in Sri Lanka. They use a whole range of sustainable materials in their work, including paddy husk, banana, pineapple, and elephant dung (working with our other elephant dung producer).

With the core value of empowering their artisans through the development and support of their crafts, the largely female team provide fairly paid opportunities to improve the lives of their workers and communities.
