All the products in this range are handmade by a small family business in Rajasthan, India.

We are fortunate enough to visit them every year, having worked with them for many years following Fair Trade guidelines.

The leather has been tanned by our suppliers using a natural dye and the put together using a mixture of contemporary and traditional skills.

Expertly crafted using both contemporary and traditional methods, each one is bound by hand and ready to withstand any knocks and bumps on their journeys with you. The leather used for the cover is a by-product of the meat industry in India and is tanned using only natural dyes.

Protected with natural oils, it will soften and age beautifully. The embossed detail is created using small handmade tools, making each journal unique. The pattern might not be exactly the same as the one pictured, but it will be just as beautiful.

The paper used is made by a charity in rural Rajasthan that promotes women’s education and their social standing in the rural villages. It is made from rags leftover from the huge garment industry in India. Only unbleached cotton is used so they do not contain any chemicals.

While it’s perfect for ball-point pens, gel pens, or watercolours, we wouldn’t recommend it for use with fountain pens.
