This handmade journal contains many pages of plain non-refillable, unlined khadda paper. The pages are created from khadda paper (also known as kaddi or khaddi). This sustainable material is crafted by hand from recycled cotton, salvaged from the huge waste of the Indian garment industry. Only unbleached cotton is used, ensuring the paper is acid-free.
Stylish and unique it also makes a difference to the communities who make them, the cotton is made by a charity that promotes women's development in rural areas of Rajasthan, India.
The leather used for the cover is a by-product of the meat industry in India and is tanned using only natural dyes. Protected with natural oils, it will soften and age beautifully.
They are made in a small workshop in Rajasthan, India by skilled crafts people using a mixture of traditional and contemporary methods.
