About Us

Hi and welcome to Paper Mundi!

My name is Crystal, and I started Paper Mundi as an illustration studio after several years working in corporate architecture. My partner and I initially met in architecture school, where we bonded over our shared love of travel and art. After working for a few years, we started painting illustrations of our travels on weekends, which eventually grew to creating hand-drawn illustrations and maps for friends and family.

In 2018, I officially launched Paper Mundi as an illustration studio focused on maps and travel-inspired art. Our whimsical, uniquely-detailed maps reflect the awe that each destination inspires. Using a combination of digital and hand-painted techniques, we design and illustrate maps of cities, countries, landscapes and landmarks.

All orders to the UK are shipped from our London-based studio.

Our Process

The elements of each print are hand painted and meticulously laid out in the final design.

Our designs are born out of our belief that the world is a vast, beautiful place filled with cultures, languages, and wonders that enrich us all. Our art is carefully researched and designed to help you slow down and enjoy every little detail around you. From famous settings to little-known spots, learning about new places helps us find a sense of self and form meaningful connections.
