A handmade leather dog collar with skull and crossbone rivets alongside domed studs in the soft calf leather colour of your choice.
This pirate themed collar is perfect for those dogs with a bit of a rebellious streak. Handmade to order in a luxurious Italian calf leather colour of your choice.
Why not order a matching lead too, they're one metre long, available in four widths and have a handy d-ring in the handle so you can clip it around your neck or shoulder while walking.
The MOST important thing to take into account when measuring though is DO NOT MEASURE THE TOTAL LENGTH OF AN EXISTING COLLAR. This will lead to an incorrect sized collar.
Petiquette Collars generally cover a 2" - 3" neck size range. So for example, a 10" - 12" collar. The first hole would be 10" from the buckle, and the last hole would be 12" from the buckle. Please see the image below for a visual representation.
Measuring your dog for a classic collar
Step 1
Have your dog stand comfortably, hopefully they won’t wriggle too much, but if they do, then bribery with some tasty treats can help. Wrap the tape measure or piece of string around the middle of your dog’s neck so that it is touching the fur but is not tight around the neck.
Step 2
Make a note of this reading and then take a look at the sizes we offer for each of our bespoke collars.
We would recommend that you choose the collar size where the smallest hole would be as close to the neck measurement as possible.
For example
If your dog has a neck size of roughly 13.5”, then you should choose a 13” - 15” collar size. This will give enough room to tighten it should they lose a little weight, and it gives enough room to slacken it if needed.
