I made plaster moulds from children's fridge magnets in my little studio. I then pour porcelain slip into each of the moulds, once the clay has set I release them from the moulds, smooth the surface and insert a hole. Once dried out, the letters are biscuit fired at 1060c and then glazed and fired again at 1250C. The letters are then fired a third time once I have cut out and applied floral decals onto the front and back of each letter- this can be very fiddly! This last firing is set at 720C.
The process is labour intensive, but I love it. Each letter is slightly different from the last, feels beautifully smooth and has a silk finish. These handmade charms are fragile and special- treat them with love.
The 1 inch wine charm rings are made of alloy, silver plated flexible wire and include a hook and loop fastening feature.
The letter sizes vary slightly depending on the type of letter. Letters similar to 'P' are approx 3 x 2 x 0.5cm, letters like 'N' are 3 x 3 x 0.5cm and 'I' 3 x 1 x 0.5cm. Please note that the 'W' is slightly larger, measuring approx 3 x 4 x 0.5cm.
