Embrace the Danish art of living well - light a candle and belong to the moment.
From her coastal roots in north Norfolk to her Danish inspired designs, Pipkin&Co was born by founder Suzanne Sales.
Following a visit to friends in Copenhagen she was struct by their love of candles, burning them at breakfast with coffee, and throughout the day. They are the happiest nation for a reason! So back in London, she developed the first range of candles MORGEN, DAG and AFTEN, translating to Morning, day and evening.
Alongside candles Suzanne also designed Danish inspired products such as aprons, cushion, mugs and stationary. However it was the candles that really took off! So in 2018 it was decided to focus purely on these, redesign the packaging, and extend the range to eight fragrances.
Hygge is now a well known Danish word meaning cosy, so to embrace this four scents in coloured transparent glass were created. Then came the stand alone candle BLOMST (to blossom) which represents new beginnings, love and kindness.

HOW IT'S MADE
Hand-poured soy wax candles with a Danish twist
Each and every Pipkin&Co candle is hand-poured by Suzanne in her studio. It all began from the kitchen table, but now you will find her stirring away in an old victorian factory, which used to make cricket bats, in trendy Peckham.
With the aid of a wax melting machine, the soy is at the perfect temperature ready to be dispensed into a mixing jug, and the fragrance added. From this point on timing is everything. First, each batch is stirred for no less than 2 minutes. Then it sits patiently to cool down. Glassware is prepared and soon it's time for the candles to be poured, not forgetting to prop those wicks!
Each stage is crucial which is why Suzanne has a tried and tested method that works for her, to achieve the maximum scent load, while keeping a lovely smooth creamy top to her candles.
