This embroidery is a collab with the wonderful Misfit Makes who you should check out if you haven't already! This snakey design was originally an earring and I couldn't stop thinking about what a cool embroidery it would make - I was so psyched when Bex agreed to collab on a kit and workshop!
About Ouroboros: The ouroboros or uroboros is an ancient symbol depicting a serpent or dragon eating its own tail. The ouroboros entered Western tradition via ancient Egyptian iconography and the Greek magical tradition. It expresses the unity of all things, material and spiritual, which never disappear but perpetually change form in an eternal cycle of destruction and re-creation.
This kit is a great way to learn hand embroidery or brush up on your skills. It is quite detailed but uses just six different stitches and seven colours, so is actually more straight forward than it looks! It's a great mindful make, with lots of soothing repetition to get into the zone with.
