An elegant motif, inspired by the cheetah from Mughal miniatures, adorns this cushion in many hues.
‘Cheetah’ cushion is a part of our ‘Murraqqa Collection’. Hunting was a royal sport from ancient times. Mughal emperors went hunting with locally trained cheetahs, who had already learned hunting skills from wild mothers, for assisting in royal hunts. Depiction of these hunts in the Mughal miniatures paintings was a matter of glory, valour and pride.
Our ‘Muraqqa’ collection, inspired by the art of Mughal storytelling through miniatures, adapts motifs, patterns and structures in vibrant colours, retelling stories in a contemporary style.
Designed by Artist Zoya Chaudhry in Singapore. For illustrations on the cushions she uses traditional, intricate and time-consuming drawing techniques.
