Our trousers are eccentric but effortless. We create ageless and seasonless trousers. Our silk trousers are handmade by an all female team.
Our first Rude Susi trousers were inspired by a gift from mother to daughter. The first pair of Rude Susi's were the Pop of Pink trousers and caught onlookers attention everywhere they were worn. Now Rude Susi is a sentimental ode to our co-founder Susi. Her eccentric but effortless style is the inspiration behind RUde Susi. After finding inspiration from the hand-dyed ostrich feathers, we sought out to create the elevated but relaxed, effortless but eccentric collection of RUDE SUSI trousers. My mum and I, Susi McLintock and India McLintock, co-founders of RUDE SUSI, design our collections by asking “could I wear this every day?”, “Will I wear this in 5 years?” and most importantly, “will this make me feel confident and comfortable?”. Our unique fashion sense is focused on incorporating vibrant colours and textures into every outfit, as well as our different styles from very different generations means that the RUDE SUSI trousers are perfect for anyone, anytime.
We are a small socially conscious fashion brand. Creating transitional trousers for all seasons and all ages.
Each pair of Rude Susi trousers is hand-made lovingly and with care and we LOVE how involved we both are throughout the whole production process. We hand-dye the silk and so each batch of dye in house and each pair of trousers is hand sewn into a reality. We barely have any offcuts of silk because our co-founder Susi is amazing at cutting the patterns with as little waste as possible. But when there is we make them into hair bows and scrunchies which will be available on our website very soon. The satin labels that we use for our products are 100% recycled from another wonderful South African company. Additionally, our care cards are made on recycled paper. Our new packaging is eco-friendly, 100% plastic free and 100% recycled. To further reduce waste we only create. a few pieces of each product. They are made to last a lifetime.
