An energetic and practical 2 hour session, a taster into the world of Neon Light. You'll make a small Neon 'Squiggle' . Power supply included.
WHAT'S THIS ALL ABOUT?
This is a two-hour taster session. First off, you will be introduced to glowing examples of neon art. There will be mesmerizing demonstrations of cutting, blowing, stretching, bending, and fusing glass with flame. Then the tubes will be filled with gas and illuminated with electricity. It's almost magical. You will be able to have a go yourself and take home the results. You may produce more of a squiggle than a major artwork, but you will be able to plug it in as soon as you get home.
TELL ME MORE
Richard William Wheater is a neon artist of international standing. Now you can take a class with the best. Your workshop space is in Wakefield and houses a gallery, workshops, and a significant public resource library. The company makes and installs neon. Their commissions come from artists, galleries, the retail sector, and individuals.
Their neon work has cropped up in stately homes, private gardens, theatre sets - you name it, they can make it. In this class, you will be learning the basics, starting out by finding out what neon actually is, what it can be, and how to make it.
'Glow in the dark' and 'one I made earlier' just became slightly more impressive.
