Coffee Lovers Gift. Learn how to steam the perfect microfoam, and how to pour a variety of patterns: hearts, tulips, rosettas and swans.
It's what takes the breakfast coffee from the ordinary to the extraordinary: Latte Art.
Think of the surface of the milk as your canvas. What you need to achieve latte greatness is the ability to sink a small stream of steamed milk into the cup, so you can build up an intricate pattern. As you know, a barista can do this in the time it takes to say 'make mine a flat white.'
The results make the day feel a bit better, and coffee becomes a treat.
Latte art is thought to have been started by the Italians, but it took the Japanese to take the skill to a whole new level, by creating 3D pictures in their coffee - you can move on to that once you have conquered the basics. It's trickier than it looks.
This is a two-hour session, with unlimited access to milk and coffee beans. You can use oat milk if you prefer. Learn how to steam the perfect microfoam, and how to pour a variety of patterns: hearts, tulips, rosettas and swans (swans are tricky). You are about to acquire a whole new skill set.
