Paddling is a mindful and restful pursuit, and there is no better way to discover unexplored London than from the water on the Grand Union Canal.
Glance into back gardens and private spaces that you never knew existed, and can only be seen from the water. Watch the ducks as they dabble about, making nests and busying themselves on the banks.

Your hire lasts for an hour and a half. You need to have some experience to hire the board - one session is enough, but don’t fret if you think you might struggle you can choose to take out a one person ‘sit-on’ Kayak instead. You don’t need any experience, and it’s just as much fun.
It’s nearly impossible to believe that you are right in the heart of London, as you set off on this private, very delightful mini adventure. Wind under willows, float past houseboats and take in all the greenery and wildlife that the canal has to offer.
This may be the first paddle stroke you have ever taken, but we guarantee it won’t be the last.
